This is a garden of a private residence in Poilitia, Attica, Greece. The construction of the garden, expanded on an area of 1,000 m2, begun in early July 2006 and finished 30 days later.

This is a private garden with very specific characteristics. The largest part (about 750 m2) was a roof garden, as its area (with a depth of only 25 cm) was the roof of the lower building. Across the area of the roof garden we installed a drainage network, so that the excess amount of water (rain and irrigation water) to drain quickly. We added a special soil mixing with main properties: light weight, direct drainage and very good aeration.

We placed sod of exceptional quality with excellent characteristics in density, texture and green color throughout the year. All shrubs planted in the roof garden were selected based on their capacity to develop flocculent root system. Trees that were selected to be planted were cypresses (Cupressus sempervirens) and olive trees (Olea europea). In the planting areas of the trees we created small hills while in the section where an impressive rare olive tree, aged 400 years, we created a special infrastructure.

Across the garden was a fully automated irrigation system was installed using solenoid valves and central controller. Pop-ups were also used for the irrigation of lawn and self-regulating dripping hoses for watering the trees and shrubs.
